VOLUME XIII EUGENE, OREGON - FEBRUARY 1953 NO. 2
SILVE JUBILEE SUMMER CAMP
Time: August 9 To August 23
Location: Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Parks
Transportation: Via Greyhound Bus
COST: APPROXIMATELY $75.00
To celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of our club the Outing Committee, with the approval of the Board, has chosen for your enjoyment a summer camp in Glacier National Park.
Glacier, which is America's third largest national park, was visited last year by over one-half million people. It is beckoning you, located astride the continental divide, high in the Rocky Mountains which are the backbone of our country.
As in our outing to the Grand Tetons National Park, one of our fellow members, Clarence Bankhead, will drive our chartered Greyhound bus. We plan to cover some 2,000 miles in our trip to Montana and Canada with numerous side trips.
We have the promise of a large camp site at the foot of St. Mary's Lake, where we may launch our rubber boat and the anglers may wet their lines. Glacier has over 200 individual lakes, some 60 glaciers, with over 1,000 miles of well marked trails. Won't you join us in exploring and enjoying this bit of nature's wonderland. Our camp and the food will be as usual, THE BEST we can prepare. For any further information contact: Dale Carlson - Leaburg; Lloyd Plaisted -- 5-6393; Gene Sebring - 3-3563.
