High lights of '53 Schedule

With the advent of spring in our Silver Anniversary year, Obsidians can again scurry off to the mountains, soon to be void of their winter snow, to the high lakes, soon to shed their covering of ice, and enjoy the summer green of the trail, the myriad color of the high mountain meadows and view the expanse of scenery as seen only from TRIPS.

As in the past, this year's trips committee was confronted with the problem of eliminating places to visit due to the wide variety of spots and a limited number of weekends. In any event, long weekends or not, your trips committee hopes you will find pleasure and enjoyment in this schedule containing some new, many old but irresistable areas we love to return to.

Consult your schedule for complete listing. Extras may be had by phoning Lloyd Gust 5-8123.

May 30-31 - MEMORIAL WEEKEND: Why drive through heavy traffic? Don't fight the crowds in parks and playgrounds!! Sit back and relax, with Clarence at the wheel, in our SPECIAL Greyhound bound for Humbug Mountain State Park, and the U.S. MAIL BOAT TO AGNES.

Coordination with the Scientific Committee produced two major trips this year to U.S. Forest Service Projects and one to the dam sites on the upper McKenzie River. The Forest Projects will be under the excellent leadership and guiding of trained personnel from the Willamette National Forest Office. We are certain you will find these trips very interesting and educational. June 7 - Fall Creek Reforestation Area; June 28 - Salmon Creek Forest Experimental Area; June 14 - Upper McKenzie Dam Sites.
