We will celebrate George Washington's Birthday on Feb. 22, with a 6:30 potluck dinner. Ewart Baldwin,U.O.Geology Dept., will show slides of a boat trip down the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River.
McKINLEY PICTURES SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 15
Clarence Landes will show slides of the 1967 Mt. McKinley climb, at 7:30 p.m., with the help of Norman Benton, veteran McKinley climber. There will be no potluck, but refreshments will be served.
Princesses will meet Mon.,Feb.17, at Mary Castelloe's,1930 Todd St,7:30 p.m.; Frances Newsom will show slides of Scandinavian countries. At the January meeting Hostess Florence Fulton presented a beautiful pink birthday cake to Myrtie Hamlin (Drifting Cloud)to celebrate her day-Jan 25. A short business meeting determined the date of the annual rummage sale, Fri March 21, Nellie McWilliams,Chm. Annual Pancake Breakfast will be Sunday, May 11 at Obsidian Lodge,BobMedill,Chm. After the meeting, Margaret Markley and Helen Weiser talked of their trip to Mexico.
Sierra Club announces the Eleventh Annual Wilderness Conference, sponsored by Sierra Club and Sierra Club Foundation, will be held March 14,15,16,1969, at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel.. Theme: Wilderness: the Edge of Knowledge. The conference will feature nationally-known speakers. One half of the program will be devoted to the problems of wilderness and wildlife in Alaska, one session will cover the relationship between world wildlife and wilderness; there will be another on wilderness planning and people. An informative brochure is available.
On FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 1969, there will be an Obsidian Rummage Sale at the Rummage Center ...please start gathering your discards and if you wish them picked up, let us know, or bring them to the Lodge. So call RIGHT AWAY if you have something(Nellie M. 688-9273 or Mary C. 344-5168).....ALSO WATCH FOR ANNOUNCEMENT OF OBSIDIAN PANCAKE BREAKFAST ---- at the Lodge on SUNDAY, MAY 11 --- Mothers Day.
