This is the final issue of the Obsidian Bulletin to be edited by the present committee. "Thank you" does not seem to be an expressive enough word of appreciation for the many members who have so willingly helped during the past two years..... Mary Castelloe, typing; Myrtle Smith for her intriguing sketches; Maxcine Williams who has kept the address list up-to-date and typed all labels; and "Collators" Roger, Edith & Mary Bridgeman, Mary Carr, Keith Brunig, Virginia West, Betty Waddell; and machine operators Bob Medill and Ray Cavagnaro. This has been a great deal of work but it has been fun and I want to thank all who contributed to the content to help make the bulletin a success. Ex-Editor, Gerry Fehly

LADIES' PARTY

Obsidian ladies were guests of the Princesses at the Lodge, July 21. Wilma Moore planned and carried out a delightful evening. Everyone enjoyed her home-made brownies with coffee, punch, nuts & mints. Those who took part in the "Style show" wore old fashioned costumes or their original hiking outfits. Charlotte Lemon wore her original hiking outfit complete with alpenstock and she explained why each item was suitable for hiking or climbing. Myrtie Hamlin wore her hiking jacket and hat. Margaret Markley modelled Myrtie's old style black wool swim suit, and Jane Hilt modelled an older style black linen swim suit which had belonged to Helen Weiser's mother. Helen Weiser wore her mother's original tan linen duster, with wide brimmed hat and gauntlet gloves, used in the early days of automobiles. Mary Castelloe wore an old style gym suit. Wilma conducted a delightful game, matching small pieces of materials to selected phrases such as "A Tall Tale" which matched up with a piece of yarn.
