WHERE SOME OF YOUR DUES GO

The Obsidians are members of the Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs. The FWOC This makes for a united way to handle drives for conservation of one kind and another.Also sort of combines the wishes of a number of Clubs giving us a little more authority than if we had to go it alone. We are also members of the Oregon Environmental Council. They handle prolems on a State level. Also have representatives at the State Capital. We also pay part of the salary of a lawyer who is stationed in Seattle. A lawyer who is devoted to the outdoors and conservation. Thot you would like to know

Mar. 10 - To be announced

WALTER YOUNGQUIST, ex-professor, petroleum geologist,world tralveler, lecturer and writer. (I have read one of his books, "Over the Hill and Down the Creek" and found it well worth my time), will speak at the February 23rd pot-luck dinner. The subject of his lecture will be "Our Changing Energy Base". Come out and get educated.

PRINCESS NEWS

PLEASE NOTE: February meeting will be on Feb. 11 2nd Monday) instead of the usual 3rd Monday, at the home of Wilma Moore, 830 Waverly, 7:30 p.m.

January meeting was hosted by Lenore McManigal. Helen Lynch assisted), who served a delightful strawberry dessert.

Plans for an overnight trip were discussed.New Chief emblems are being worked on.

December Christmas party was a treat at Mary Bridgeman's home, with Dorothy Leland assistant hostess, and Edith Bridgeman serving the traditional plum pudding. All enjoyed the box of chocolates from Mrs. Charles Adams, and the gift exchange.

FRIDAY-MARCH 15th POTLUCK-FRIDAY

We are putting notice of this meeting in the February bulletin in case you do not recieve your March bulletin in time to have this information. This notice will also be published in the March issue. Les Anderson, your Eugene Mayor,will show pictures of his recent Mt. Kilimanjaro trip. He will also speak and answer questions on the Loop Park System proposed circling Eugene. NOTE: This will be on a Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
