Moderate TrlMnt—Amazon Headwaters Drainage Continued—Saturday, April 27, 2024
We will be continuing our project from April, clearing trailside drainage feature within Amazon Headwaters Park. We will hike the upper loop clearing drainage as we go. We will work from 9am to noon. Meet at the Fox Hollow Trailhead parking lot, the gravel lot across Fox Hollow Road from the Cascades Raptor Center. Obsidians volunteer day at Green Island just few miles north from Coburg, OR. We'll work 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM on blackberry removal project on the 2.5-acre plot, adopted by Obsidians. Green Island is located at the confluence of the McKenzie and the Willamette Rivers. McKenzie River Trust with generous support of dozen local organization and hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers researching, restoring, and protecting over 1100 acres of riverbanks, forest, islands, channels, sloughs, and grassland. The main concern of the Trail Crew is to lessen the impact on the environment that great numbers of people make. The Stewardship committee arranges projects with the City of Eugene Parks & Open Space Division. We do regular, monthly trips on the Ridgeline Trails and Spencer Butte, and we do litter pick up hikes along the Ridgeline Trails system.
