National Chili Day - Skinner

Thursday, February 22, 2018
Leader: Janet Jacobsen
Hike: 3 miles, 200 ft (Easy)

It snowed during the night but fortunately the roads were clear by the time our hike started at 9:30. Three chose to use the bus. We explored many trails and eventually made it to the top where a snowman greeted us. When Jane Hackett pointed out the bald eagle's nest in the snow covered tree, an eagle flew out and over us. That was special! Our last stops were the Big E and the O before we started down to the Soup Nation. Chili was not on the menu but there were so many interesting choices that no one complained. It was a satisfying conclusion to our celebration.

Members: Jacobsen, Janet, Rolfe, Jorry, Hackett, Jane, Romoser, Ruth, Baldwin, Mari, Cooper, Carla, Bryan, Keiko, Cooper, David, Lodeesen, David.
