Crabtree Valley

Saturday, October 5, 2019
Leader: Darko Sojak
Hike: 7 miles, 950 ft (Moderate)

In great October’s morning our enthusiastic group hiked lush verdant trail to the Crabtree Lake. Then, after the lakeside hike to the group of huge trees we stopped at Waterdog Meadow overlook for our lunch. After the lunch we continued west, bushwalking on old overgrown road and further through skunk cabbage and devils club marshland, to the one of world largest known Douglas fir “King Tut”. Thanks to Tom and Holger, with their tree locating GPS support.

Members: Darko Sojak, Marguerite Cooney, Janet Whitesides, Jules Moritz, Denise Bean, Tom Rundle, Holger Krentz, Lisa Van Liefde, Donna Moman. Nonmembers: Alice Laffey.
