Trip Report

Again thwarted (after a whole-hearted 4-wheel-drive effort!) to reach the upper Jones Trailhead and complete the work of previous parties, we opted instead for the not-so-snowbound upper Clark Butte Trail. Working without benefit of power tools, our lonesome foursome grappled blowdowns by hand (literally) and cleared trail as far as the first road crossing of all but the largest obstructions. Mediocre weather prevailed, finally turning to a heavy downpour. Blowdown grapplers were Pete Cecil, K.C. Kraft, Betty Legris and leader John Cecil.
