Trip Report

Started up Pioneer Gulch approximately 6:30 a.m. and hit snow almost immediately. Warm, sunny day. The snow was very hard up to the ridge below the summit and steps had to be kicked. Several jack rabbits went ahead and one slipped and sprained an ankle. The summit was windy and cold with the view hazy from recent slash burning. We had the treat of watching three skiers go off the summit (they camped with us and followed us up but were not part of the official group.) Nice glissade down and hike out to the car in warm weather. Climbers were Mike Anderson, Margaret Crosland, Lee Hatch, Jim Heck, Greg Hendrickson, Betty Legris, Frank Moore, Mark Perrin, Pat Smith and leader. Randy Zustiak.
