Trip Report

Gene Flint, head of recreation for the Blue River Ranger District, joined our work party to help us complete about 150 feet of tread work on the new section of trail connecting the Rebel Rock and Rebel Creek trails. After completing the last few feet, we did some touch up work on the remaining third of a mile of the trail. If you haven't seen this new section, we on the trail maintenance committee and various work parties would like to extend an invitation to all to inspect the trail and see the quality and type of work that our club is involved in completing.

After a lunch and rest break, Gene led us up a section of the old Rebel Creek trail that will also need some maintenance work and showed us a newly felled tree that is being turned into a foot bridge across Rebel Creek. Maybe this will be one of our future projects. Our weather was great for the day's work and it's very satisfying to have this project completed. Gene complimented us on a good job well done. Trail maintenance workers were John and Pete Cecil, Betty Legris, Gene Flint, Jane Tucker, and leader Mike Wright.
