Trip Report

Five well-seasoned Pulaski wielders met at the SEHS parking lot at 9 a.m. Daylight time so as not to miss a needed hour's sleep - ZZZZZZ. Although two unnamed members were back to sleep shortly after starting for our destination, the Rebel Creek Trail.

By 11 a.m. the sounds of busy working people could be heard up and down Rebel Creek. The most often heard sound was that of metal striking rock as the "pick-n-shovel" firm cleared the trail of roots, rocks and rotten wood. The rocks were pushed, shoved, rolled, pried and carried to more useful locations such as retaining walls in creek drainage areas and reinforcement to the sides of newly constructed tread. The second most often heard sound was "Oh, my aching back!".

After a thirty minute lunch break and a tour for three members on the newly placed bridge and trailhead soon to be retired, it was back to work until the whistle blew at 2:30 p.m. to signal the end of a very productive day. A job well done, gang! Much appreciation to my top-notch crew members John and Pete Cecil, Margaret Crosland and Vi Johnson. Leader, Mike Wright.
