Trip Report

A chainsawless work party attacked with great gusto the remaining segment of reroute on this well-known but little used Lowell District trail, inclement weather notwithstanding. A very badly eroded section ("The Twenty-Nine Steps"?) is now completely by-passed and should be a delight to all future users! Almost completed, the project will take at least one more trip to buck tree blockages and other leapfrogged obstacles, tidy up in general and finish trashing the old pathway.

The hard working and cohesive midweek trail crew consisted of Mary Bridgeman, Larry Cash, Dallas Cole, Bob Shaw, Bryant Mitchell and leader John Cecil. (incidentally, this trail trip was the first to receive partial F.S. remuneration towards car travel expenses under the new expense scheme.)
