Trip Report

Because we left Eugene at 5 p.m., it was well past dark when we got to the trailhead for Mt. McLoughlin. All were soon in sleeping bags on this warm, moonlit night. We were up at 5 a.m. and on our way at 6 a.m.

There were only a few patches of snow and a strong wind on the ridge, otherwise perfect weather. All were on the summit before 10 a.m.; had a very early lunch and rest in the sun, and were back at the cars at 1 p.m.

Arriving home early evening were Judith Engle, Rick Hargreaves, Archie Thompson, & leader Lee Hatch.
