Trip Report

After a cool night under the stars at Summit Lake, we were up at 6 a.m., Sunday. Shortly after 7 a.m. we started up the Pacific Crest Trail for the climb.

After some errors in the climb route by the leader, we finally reached the top of the ridge the hard way and we made the summit at 12:45 p.m. The weather was cool with black clouds and sunshine, a few very light sprinkles of corn snow on the mountain, and a few sprinkles of rain on the way down the trail.

I am very curious about one thing! Why is it that when you camp in a campground that has toilets, so many people let the toilet room door slam shut on the way out instead of using the handle to close it quietly???

The small party on this climb included Ralph Hatleberg, Suzanne Stuessy, Bruce Wilson, and leader Wes Prouty.
