Trip Report

This climb of Diamond Peak was planned for the north side of the mountain on a route not before climbed by any of the group. All members were advised that the leader had never been on this route (none opted to go home).

After camping overnight at Divide Lakes near Mt. Yoran, with warm weather and the ever present clouds of mosquitoes, we were on our way before 7 a.m. When able to see the mountain, we decided on the ridge we would try, and at about the 7500' level did not find a suitable route for the equipment on hand or the experience of the party, so returned to camp. Though not climbing the mountain, it was a fun backpack with all but one member who I had climbed with before.

P.S. On being questioned about my Middle Sister climb later, I assured them I knew the route!
