Trip Report

We left town at 9:00 a.m. headed for the Green Lakes trailhead, and after a short coffee stop at Crescent Lake Jct., were on the trail toward the lakes at 12:30. We found our campsite about a half mile from the lakes, and after exploring the area, including a climb of the non-summit peak of Broken Top and the lakes area, we practiced our climbing skills on some nearby rocks and John Englehart was designated as the unofficial climb leader. (We had met John on the Middle Sister climb two weeks before.) After a windy but clear night with a full moon, we were on the way at 7:00 a.m. John lead the entire climb to the summit with very little help. His first time. Back at camp we took different routes to the cars, some taking the long way on the Soda Creek Trail. A great climb and weekend with: Brian Barker, Dan Bates, Too Cawi, Jerry Crosby, John Englehart, Ed Lovegren, Lesley Mooney, Jim Mooney, Diana Tvorik, Robert Sullivan and Lee Hatch (leader).
