Trip Report

A little snow in the parking lot did not deter 32 people from sharing an evening of fun, food and frolic. Decorated by Vera Woolley, the tables provided a cheery atmosphere. For centerpieces, she attached colored Christmas balls to gold painted teasels surrounded by green fir boughs. Dave Predeek provided the tree which Paula Vehrs and Mike Stahl decorated. Gladys Grancorvitz and Dorothy Stahl assisted in preparing the Lodge for the party.

The play "How Three Obsidians Saved Santa Claus" written by Janet Baker Jacobsen provided many laughs due to the lively, spontaneous and creative acting. Mike Stahl played Obsidian #1 who was always on time and carried everything but the kitchen sink in his pack. He even carried a large piece of obsidian so that he cold be easily identified.

Cast as Obsidian #2 was Margaret Wiese who played a fashionable hiker with the correct hat for every emergency. Obsidian #3 was Margaret Baldwin, a somewhat scattered hiker whose ten essentials included a teddy bear. Ann Aylsworth was Rudolph whose boss was suffering from hypothermia. Clair Cooley as Santa Claus did a great job of shivering. Mistletoe helped him recover in time to deliver the gifts at our party.

Thanks to all the people who helped make this such a warm party. - Janet Baker Jacobsen
