Trip Report

Our group was awakened at 5:30 a.m. (remembering the theme from the movie "Superman" played at the Potluck the night before) to begin the long drive to Mt. McLoughlin. After a quick but ample breakfast provided by Jan and Rich Anselmo, the group headed east on Highway 58 to meet the rest of our climbing party at the east end of Odell Lake. We arrived at the trailhead at 10:30 a.m. and started the ascent at 10:45. We were on the summit in 3.5 hours. There lunch was enjoyed while we basked in the warm summer sun and took lots of summit photos. The descent back to the trailhead took 2 hours and the group started the very long drive back to Oakridge wishing home was a lot closer.
