Trip Report

It was a beautiful day to get a job done. Leaving the trailhead at 10:15, we carried our work tools in hand. It wasn't long before we could see that some work had already been done on the trail. We did not need to cut brush back but all the water runoffs needed cleaning, and we added a few new ones. We set up camp on the ridge above Rosary Lakes. After a brief rest, we continued down the north side, by way of the new P.C.T. There was more work to be done on this side. About 2 miles out, it was time to turn back. The next day we worked on the trail going back. There was need of retread due to human and horse travel. At the lakes we found the need to clean out campfires (garbage) and put out one campfire. Back at the trailhead at 12:30. It was a good work weekend. We covered 6 miles of our 10 mile commitment. With a few more hands we could have made our goal. Those working, very fine folks, were Velma Shirk, Barry Greer our newest member and a hard worker, and leader Rebecca Hansen.
