Sunday, June 16 was a lovely day for the Annual Father's Day Pancake Breakfast at the Lodge. Ninety-one Obsidians and their guests ate a hearty breakfast consisting of pancakes, ham and eggs, and strawberries.

The excellent pancake batter was again donated by the Original Pancake House (659 East Broadway). Our thanks to Joe Fowler, who makes this possible. Dorothy Turner and Leona Devine provided flowers for the six individual tables. Dorothy also hulled strawberries and kept an ample supply on each table.

Also putting in a long five-hour shift were Lenore and John McManigal, John Jacobsen and Paula Vehrs. Other assistants were Joella Ewing, Vera Woolley, Dave Predeek, Kathy Riddle, Birgitte Williams, Jane Hackett, Karen Seidel, Betty Staeck, Dorothy Medill, Dorothy Leland, Donna Eimstad, Dorothy Hayes, Leonna Devine, Harold Busby, Phyllis Earley, Virginia Prouty, Lanelda Watts, Helen Lynch, Lindsay Pierce, Joanne Otto and Mary Baffin. John Cecil made the place cards for the tables, and there were many volunteers who worked on the Lodge grounds in the preceding days. [I hope I didn't leave anyone out!! - J.J.]

All these people called and volunteered to help. We appreciate our former Summer Camp cook, Selma Vangsnes, who came with 15 people! Father's Day Breakfast profits were $112.66, and the food cost $146. Most of the guests came between 9:00 and 10:30, so we recommend next year that the hours are 8:00–11:00. And we need 20 more people to show up so that we do not have any left-over food! Thanks to everyone who helped make this the favorite event of the Entertainment Chair. - Jan Jacobsen
