Trip Report

Six climbers left Obsidian Summer Camp at 7:30 a.m. and drove 2.5 miles to the trailhead. We reached the Pacific Crest Trail and started up the climbers' trail at 9:00. We made it to the saddle by noon and five of us made the summit climb. Dick Bentsen was satisfied with a climb to the saddle. Marriner Orum deserves special recognition for bicycling to camp from Eugene in one day and climbing Mt. Thielsen two days later! Summit climbers were Lisa Wish & Marshall Anderson, Chris Minarich, Marriner Orum and Wes Prouty (leader).
