Trip Report

The climb party left Eugene Saturday around 2:00 p.m. for the trailhead, arrived before dark and set up camp. Got up at 5:00 a.m. Sunday and left the trailhead at a little after 6:00 after the trip leader repaired a broken shoulder strap on his pack. The day was sunny and very warm. Arrived at the summit about 10:15. By now it was at least 60°. It was the trip leader’s birthday, and he had brought water melon for all, so everyone (including some non-party members) had a treat. Left the summit about 11:30 and arrived back at camp at 2:15 p.m. Packed up and drove home. Medford recorded 99° that day! Climb party members were Chris Stockdale, Mark Slipp, Rich Romm, leader Bill Johnson and Judy Terry, the lone non-Obsidi.
