Trip Report

Eight eager climbers met at the Obsidian Trailhead at 11:00 on a warm, sunny Saturday morning. A steady pace got us to Arrowhead Lake around 3:00 p.m. with plenty of time to set up camp and enjoy the early evening. Sunday morning was full of stars and we left camp at dawn, around 5:45. We climbed via Renfrew Glacier with the least amount of snow on the lower mountain I've seen in years. At 9:30 we summited, in three hours and thirty-five minutes - the fastest group I've led up Middle Sister. The great group of strong climbers summiting were Travis Suggs, Ed Lovegren, Jane Engert, Leigh Colby, John Young, Gerry Roe, Jim Pierce (who summited his third Sister for this 3-Peaks award; congratulations, Jim!) and Dick Snyder, leader.
