Trip Report

Left Eugene 8:00 a.m. September 8. Drove to the PCT access on Hwy. 62 near the Park entrance. Left for Union Peak at 11:30 a.m. Arrived at the summit about 2:00 p.m. It was clear and little wind on top so we stayed for an hour. Arrived back at the vehicles about 5:00. Drove into Mazama Village and rented a camp site for the night.

Packed up and left the camp site about 9;00 a.m. Sunday, September 9. Drove 18 miles around the Lake to the Mt. Scott trailhead. Arrived at the summit about 10:30 a.m. The view of the Crater was fantastic. No clouds, little wind, perfect. After pictures and a snack break, all headed down to the cars. By about 12:15 p.m. we were on our way home, arriving back in town about 3:00. Climbers were Christine Stockdale, Jane Engert, Wayne Deeter and Bill Johnson, leader.
