Trip Report

We traveled south on I-5, using a by-ways route through Drain and Yoncalla where Ewart pointed out several geologic features of the area. Our coffee-cookie break was at Stewart Park in Roseburg, which place has become a favorite rest stop for Obsidian bus trips. At Wildlife Safari we toured the complete circuits twice. Rick gave an enjoyable and educational description of all the animals. We all appreciated his outstanding presentation. [Thanks again, Rick.] Most of us lunched at the White Rhino Restaurant, good food and service. Then on to the Douglas County Museum, where we split into three groups for guided tours. A very nice museum with well-presented displays. En route home, the ice-cream at Rice Hill was a perfect complement to a day of sunny, warm, perfect weather . . . lucky break, or superb leadership?
