Trip Report

At 8:30 a.m. an eager crew of seven met at SEHS and set out for Tire Mountain. Upon arriving at the trailhead we hiked for two miles carrying our tools and backpacks. Max cleared the way for us by trimming branches overhead as we went along.

As elevation increased the vista included brilliant colors of wildflowers, Mt. Washington and blue, clear skies.

We continued work on the trail which consisted primarily of widening and clearing away unsightly brush at the trails edge.

Chisako took pictures, we laughed a lot.

We arrived back at the parking lot tired, dusty and grateful for the opportunity to be land stewards. The trip members included: Rick Ahrens, Max Brown, Wayne Deeter (co-leader), Anne McLucas, Nola Shurtleff, Chisako Sakai, and Martha Welches (co-leader).
