Trip Report

Left Springfield about 7:00 a.m. Arrived at Summit Lake about 10:15. Took PCT to the mountain and went around east side to mid-mountain. Climbed the old moraine and up the snow field to the headwall (50° to 55°). Climbed the north side of the headwall to reach the ridge line. Traveled south on the ridge line around two gendarmes to the summit. Arrived at the summit about 1:50 p.m. and stayed for ½ hour. Descended via the south west ridge and returned to Summit Lake via the PCT after bushwacking east to intersect it. Arrived at the lake about 5:00 p.m., packed up, and headed for home. Back in Springfield by 7:30 p.m.
