Description:

This outing coincides with National Public Lands Day!

We will continue to work on the West Trail adding steps, armoring water bars, and cleaning drainage features. We will also have a paint so that those who want a hike can hike and paint the way-finding posts at the trail junctions of the Tie Trail in the meadow and at the Ridgeline Trail. Others will also be able to paint a kiosk.

Trip Report

For our first Saturday morning outing of our winter schedule we met at the main Spencer Butte parking lot. We broke into 4 groups and took on several tasks. Dan, Todd, and I continued doing rock work on the West Trail. Dave and Pat raked duff from the West Trail and cut back overhanging vine maples. We worked to improve and repair 5 steps. Clara worked diligently to clean the kiosk and stairs. Janet, Roberta, and Autumn hiked the Main Trail up to the Junction Meadow checking culverts, picking up litter, and cutting back overhanging vine maples.
