Monday morning: Hike about 6 miles to base camp at 6,000' above Jefferson Park via Whitewater Trail. Set up camp & turn in early. Tuesday morning alpine start: Whitewater Glacier to Southeast Ridge, turn north & follow ridge to Red Saddle, cross saddle & continue clockwise corkscrew to north side of summit pinnacle. This route involves negotiating crevasses with a running belay and a steep traverse and Class 5 rock climbing following a fixed line. After topping out, return to base camp via ascent route. Wednesday: Hike out to trailhead. Note: Leader has not previously climbed the Whitewater Glacier Route.

Other Gear: Extra clothes for all conditions, including rain gear, camping gear, headlamp & extra batteries, compass, hat, sunblock, lip balm, sunglasses, gaiters.
