Description:

We will hike the Fall Creek Tr to Green Lakes where we will camp Sat night. We will climb South Sister Sun. morning via the Prouty Glacier headwall, then return to camp via the Green Lakes climbers tr.

Trip Report

We camped Saturday night not far from the northern most of the Green Lakes. Starting our climb only an hour before sunrise got us to the Prouty Glacier too late to do the headwall route. By the time we were near to the headwall rockfall was too great. So the group decision was to divert to the normal Prouty route. At that point I had Danni move to the front and lead us over the bergschrunds. By the time we reached the summit quite a few skiers were coming up from the south side, including Obsidians John and Lisa Manotti. We descended via the Green Lakes route in several long glissades.
