Description:

Snowshoe loop from Maxwell Snow Park with overnight stay in completely enclosed Mountain View shelter. Shelter has wood stove and firewood ready. Overnight stays are on a first come first served basis so be ready, we may need to share shelter with another people. Detached restroom is available.
Each car needs snow park permit for two days available in any DMV office or at BI-Mart.

Trip Report

Despite sleet and bad trail markers we found our way to the Mountain View Shelter, just in time to grab last two unoccupied cotz. By mid-afternoon shelter was packet with 17 friendly campers, plus two hardy souls in the snow buried tent nearby.
Lively atmosphere lasted up to 10 PM when chitchat was replaced by simultaneous thunder snoring.
Morning descent in light snow blizzard was uneventful.
