Pisgah Trails

Description:

From the main lot, we will walk to the North Trailhead 17, 7, 3, 4 up to the summit. This will include the Swing Trail and a steep trail off of trail 4 up to the Electric Hill view point and back down to the main trail to the summit. To return, I’d like to head back down the main trail taking lower trail by flowing water up to a meadow, over top of the Zig Zag and Boundary Trails. From there we will circle around the arboretum. Depending on weather and interests of the group, we have other alternatives – looping back to the North Trailhead, seeing the new section of Trail 4 if they are not working on it. I will scout it again on Friday. Those that want a shorter trip, have several options to head back to parking lot. I am not sure about the elevation.

Trip Report

At the parking lot, Dave Cooper predicted that the rain would stop in ten minutes. He was correct! We took trails 17, 7, 3, 4, and 1 to the summit. It was interesting to venture on a new partially completed Y intersection on trail 4. We concluded our hike, by taking a lower trail with flowing streams up to the Zig Zag trail. The hiking camaraderie made our 2 1/2 hour hike an enjoyable way to start the day.
