Trip Report

When it is hot in the Valley it is time to head for the Mountains to hike. Lowder Mountain provides ample forest shade for the hike to the top. There were a few sightings of Diamond Peak on the way up, along with plenty of various flowers to identify. The cherry- on- top is the stellar view of the Cascades- Mt Hood to MT Bachelor. It was a clear bluebird day and the mountains were at their best. The leader provided a short talk about Obsidians Karl and Ruth Onthank, for whom the lakes below the cliff are named..
