Description:

This is an easy, moderate pace hike. There will be a gradual climb through the forest area. Then there will be switchbacks up to the Lower Rosary lake. We will continue on to the Middle and North Rosary Lakes . If I find out about any fire danger I will post here and try to reach all participants by phone.

Trip Report

The closing of the Jefferson Wilderness, just prior to the scheduled hike to Duffy, had me scrambling to find a quick solution.
I selected Rosay Lake farther south, but was still concerned about smoke and possible fire danger in that area. The result was a beautiful bluebird day with basically no mosquitos, and a good canopy of trees to keep us comfortable. The lakes were gorgeous and were active with fish jumping and ducks with ducklings. The trail was in perfect condition. We had a relaxing lunch at the edge of Middle Rosary Lake.
