Description:

This will be an easy hike. We will follow the Brice Creek trail and will hopefully have a cooler hike on an August day. The hike will begin at Cedar Creek and follow Brice Creek to Champion Creek before returning.

Trip Report

As we drove to Brice Creek the sky was covered with dark clouds. Pulling into the parking area the sky opened up to a Blue Bird Day. There was a little nip in the air on this August day as we followed Brice Creek upstream from Cedar Creek Campground. The forest occasionally opened up to see the beautiful clear creek with many small waterfalls and areas for a swim. The lower Trestle falls was still flowing and we did this uphill portion prior to having lunch back at Brice Creek. Occasionally we noticed little whiffs of smoke from all the fires in the Cascades, but it was mainly good clean forest air for hiking. This was an easy casual day of hiking in a beautiful forest.
