Description:

This is a fairly fast paced hike, not a saunter; after all, the goal is to burn off a few of the calories we ingested the previous day! The route: up 28th, S to Dillard up Old Dillard, up the Ridgeline "spur" trail to Spring (probably a few muddy spots), and around and back down S. Shasta Loop. You might just discover a road you have never been on. We will be back in the parking lot noonish, just in time for lunch. No restrooms along the way. Most of the route is on paved streets, but there is about .5 on trail and .75 on gravel.

Trip Report

Judging from what our favorite foods were on Thanksgiving, it was a good thing that we participated in a brisk walk the following day. It was a perfect morning for hiking - cool and sunny. Richard set a blistering pace, but we all kept up. The path through the woods was muddier than expected, but then again, it had drizzled most of the previous day. Several folks commented that they discovered new streets in south Eugene. Thanks to all for the excellent company.
