Description:

Hike along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River from Elijah-Bristow State Park to Dexter Dam. This trail is generally flat, and for the most part is close to one of the meandering channels of the Willamette River. We can expect to see beaver (or at least signs of them), eagles, hawks, waterfowl, newts, etc.

**I scouted this route on 12/23 and trail was generally dry. Some sections have lots of river rock in the trail; some are covered in wet, decomposing leaves. I cleared some downed branches and blackberry vines along the route.

Trip Report

Our little group enjoyed a pleasant, but chilly, hike along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River from Elijah Bristow S.P. to Dexter Dam and back. The trails were damp & muddy in places. We were the only hikers on the trail. We were entertained by a pileated woodpecker high in a tree along the angler's trail.
