PLEASE NOTE: Change of trip leader. We'll no longer have a geology expert along, but will enjoy this interesting trail along Sweet Creek. This trail includes walking on some grated catwalks above the creek. And probably wildflowers.

Trip Report

We hiked from the Homestead trailhead to Sweet Creek falls and back. The creek was roaring full. We saw pink fawn lilies, trillium, skunk cabbage, and thimble berry blossoms.
We also drove a few miles up the creek to the Wagon Road trailhead and hiked up to Beaver Creek falls, where the Sweet Creek and Beaver Creek join. Interpretive signs told us about the use of the wagon road to haul milk to the Siuslaw where in went on to the Cushman Cheese factory. That trail was in good shape and a lovely add on to Sweet Creek.
