Trip Report

We hiked the loop in ideal weather with temperatures in the high 60s. Leader missed the turn-off to Otter Lake although we did get a look at it through the trees. This was probably a fortunate mistake, since that's where most of the mosquitoes seemed to be concentrated. We had a relaxing, mosquito-free lunch at Williams Lake. Rebecca, Betty and Richard went swimming. We spent about 12 minutes looking at maps and diagrams of glacial remnants, including eskers and linear chains of patermoster lakes. On the return side of loop we made a few side trips into Middle and Lower Erma Bell Lakes and the waterfall between them. The trip ended back in the parking lot a round of strawberry lemonade and a toast to the crew.
