Description:

This is a reschedule of a canceled earlier trip. The route has been changed to make the trip easier. The trip will be along USFS roads 650 and 637 in the Ikenick Sno-Park. The trail goes partly through stands of Douglas Fir with good views of the Sisters from open areas. Slow pace with regular stops. Be prepared to take turns breaking trail. Leader Phone: 541-653-0741

Trip Report

Ten Obsidians completed a 4.2 mile snowshoe trek on the Nickerson Loop in the Ikenick Snow Park. We took turns breaking trail through about 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow. There were many sunbreaks and we enjoyed a sunny lunch beside the trail at a pass along USFS road 637 between two volcanic towers.
