Description:

We will travel down I-5 to the Drain exit and through Elkton. We will stop at Dean Creek Elk Reserve for a bathroom break and elk viewing. 15 miles south of Reedsport we will reach our trailhead. This area of the dunes has some of the highest dunes and no orv's I hope. Last year there was so much water in the deflation plane we could not find the trail to the beach. That should not be a problem this year. This trip will not be cancelled due to weather. There could be some water in the deflation plane which might mean wet feet bring dry shoes and socks. We will return to Eugene via Florence. TRIP CANCELED. JH/
