Mt. Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise hike

Description:

Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. Sunset is 8:46pm and moonrise is at 8:55 pm I plan to take trail 17 and 4 to catch the main trail to the summit. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions. If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase one with Debit/Credit card (no cash) at the pay station by trailhead. To buy an annual pass and support the trails, check out the websites for Friends of the Buford Park ($50.00) or Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. ($50.00/$40.00 for seniors).

Trip Report

The sun came out in the late afternoon giving us a colorful 8:48 sunset. After watching a low cloud bank in the east foothills, we decided not to wait and started down the trail. Back in our cars near 30th, we could see the full moon was above the clouds Thanks to Rick who identified birds and two planets,Jupiter and Venus.
