Description:

We ascend Marys Peak through impressive old growth via the East Ridge trail. Lunch at the summit, and descent via the North Ridge/Tie Trail/ East Ridge Trail. If we are lucky,
we will have excellent wildflowers, especially near the summit.

Trip Report

Nine hikers enjoyed excellent weather on the ascent of Marys Peak. We ascended on the East Ridge trail and came back down on the North Ridge and Tie Trail to join the East Ridge Trail. Although clouds prevented views of the Cascades, the outstanding wildflower display more than made up for it. Paintbrush, penstemon, phlox, among others, were in profusion on the upper slopes.
