Timing is everything....We must get around 2 areas that is only doable @ low tide...Dramatic ocean, beautiful beaches....We'll work out a shuttle....Bear vaults are required.....Permit is over $100, we will share costs....

Trip Report

We saw many tracks in the sand, including bear & cougar....Next to the abandoned light house difficult.....Our tides were not very high or low which meant the "window" to get through areas passible only @ low tide was short.....Sometimes we had to rush.....

There was plenty of rain......Mostly @ night but some heavy fog & short periods of sprinkles during the day....Conditions were warm....Little wind and temps in the high 60's.....We saw 3 sunsets

One day we hikes up Saddle Mountain.....The 3000' elevation had no "pay off.".....All the views were fogged in......The trail was steep but nicely maintained.......Thxthere was a "herd" of harbor seals & many sea lions @ Sea Lion Gultch.....

The mileage we walked was low but very vigorous .....30-40% of the time we were on a trail in the fore dune....That was easy to walk on but the sand & rocky conditions on the beach is
