Description:

I plan on hiking to all 10 falls. We will start at the South Falls and hike clockwise with lunch at the upper north falls. There will be water on part of the trail, so I recommend boots. Dress in layers, bring stocking cap and gloves. There are some concrete stairs with handrails. There is a bathroom at the South Falls day use area and at the North Falls parking lot which we will visit just before lunch. This is a state park with a $5 parking fee that needs the be shared by all hikers.

Trip Report

Eleven members and one guest departed in three cars from the Coburg park-n-ride for Silver Fall State Park. Arriving under partly sunny skies we purchased the five-dollar parking passes, then meet up near the trailhead. The 10 falls raged from 27 to 178 feet. We viewed all ten falls which took us on about 7.5 miles of a loop trail. By the time we reached the upper north falls, our lunch spot, we enjoyed full blue sky with warmer weather. After lunch we headed down the trail to view the winter falls, number 10 and our last. We finished our hike at the South Falls Lodge which was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.
