Description:

Don’t let the early departure time discourage you. It is a refreshing time of day to hike at Pisgah. Most of the hike will be in the shade. The four mile hike to the summit: We will take # 5 through the south meadow up to Trail 3 with its great views to the west. The hardest part will be hiking up Trail 6 (south ridge). From the summit, we can take Trail 4 from the main trail. If you so choose, you can opt to take the main trail down to the parking lot. I’ll have muffins for a treat on top. I estimate 2 ½ hours. Trip Report

Two rabbits were the only creatures we saw on our early 6:30 AM hike to the summit. Noah Lee summed up the mood with these words, “It is serene, I say.”
