Description:

Meet at Edgewood Elementary School upper playground parking lot off of 46th Avenue (across 46th from Harvest Church International).
Moderate-paced hike in South Hills to Ridgeline trail. Beginning at the playground we will walk on sidewalks to Brookside and catch the Ridgeline connector trail. We will have a snack stop at Southridge City Park. From the Ridgeline we will descend through Amazon Headwaters and then return uphill through residential streets and paths back to our starting point. Circuitous route! Mileage and elevation is approximate.

Hikers are required to stay between the designated leader and the designated sweep and in sight of others in the group. Hikers should be in current good conditioning and able to briskly hike hilly terrain such as Spencer Butte.

Trip Report

We had clear skies for our 3 hour hike with a novel approach to the Ridgeline Trail System. Some of the hikers had not been on the Ridgeline Connector Trail or to the Southridge City Park. After completing our Ridgeline loop, we descended through the Amazon Headwaters trail. From Martin Street, we wound our way (gasp, uphill) through neighborhoods back to our starting point at Edgewood Elementary.
