Description:

THIS IS THE WEDNESDAY HIKE. The Ridgeline Trails are closed so instead we are going to walk through Alton Baker Park and along the Riverbank Path.
We’ll meet at the parking lot in Alton Baker Park.Take Country Club Road to Day Island Road to reach the parking lot. Our start will be in the middle of a figure 8 route. About 4 miles will be along the river on the bike path cross the DeFazio and Greenway Bridges. People can decided when we return to Alton Baker if the want to call it a day or continue on via the Pre's Trail Paths adding another 3 or more miles.

Trip Report

With the Ridgeline Trail closed because of snow and downed trees the Wednesday Spencer hikers became flat landers. It turned out to be a nice change of pace. Much easier to have conversations when everyone is going about the same pace and you can often walk up to four abreast. And by doing this hike as a figure eight with the cars in the middle we could accommodate different mileage preferences Part of the group opted for about 4 miles and others held on for eight. Plenty to see today. Osprey, eagles, hawks, and herons. And although we didn't see foxes, one of our group pointed out the den at Alton Baker.
