Description:

This is another hike in the Hardesty Mountain area. But this on doesn't go to any summit. Instead, it heads east crossing a few creeks. That means it also crosses the ridges between the creeks making for a good way to get in some uphill without it being one long push. Our path will end at the Eula Ridge trailhead. We'll have a car or two left there to shuttle us back to the Hardesty trailhead.
NOTE: START TIME PUSHED BACK TO 9:30.

Trip Report

Changing weather forecasts didn't deter us. It turned out not to be as cold as some predictions and no snow fell on us. Nice to see the snow on the ground but with a relatively clear trail. We moved a a fairly brisk pace and stayed warm. Everyone seemed to enjoy this trail and expressed interest in doing it again when everything is green. Surprisingly, one member of our group collected a few mushrooms from the snowy forest floor. We stopped at cut log so one of our hikers could explain the multiple cut method that was necessary to safely clear the 60 year-old tree from the trail.
